August Bournique
M. August Bournique has practiced law since 2009, starting in the San Francisco bay area and primarily working with individual and small businesses. He graduated from University California, Hastings College of Law in 2008. In 2018 he began working with clients regarding technology and regulatory compliance.
August immigrated to the Netherlands in 2023 and has been living and working in Amsterdam since, acting as a consultant regarding regulatory compliance and California legal issues while representing US clients remotely in transactional matters.
Prior to law he worked as and underwriter and broker in the commercial property and casualty insurance industry for several years.
As a litigator August took a wide variety of disputes from initial intake to trial and judgment collection, giving him a holistic understanding of the legal process and a special emphasis on educating his clients about the how and when the law can help them efficiently obtain their goals. Since switching to consulting and transactional work August has helped clients create policy, codes of conduct and terms of service that both reflect their values and are complaint with US and EU tech regulation.
